As coaches in the new Gateway Curriculum at WUSM, Randy Laine, MD and Dennis Chang, MD have been meeting weekly with a group of students to create a safe space for discussing challenging topics and to help empower the next generation of exceptional physicians in transforming care. On Friday, October 28, they participated in the time-honored tradition of the white coat ceremony for these new medical students. Both Dr. Laine and Dr. Chang were honored to be there and place the white coat on their students for the first time in front of the Deans as well as their classmates, friends, and family.
Congratulations to the Entering Class of 2022!
It was an amazing honor to place white coats on the medical students for the first time in front of their families. What made it even better was the relationships we have already created as part of the gateway coaching program where we meet with the same 8 to 9 students every week from the beginning of medical school.
