Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, Allyship, and Social Justice (IDEAS)

Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, Allyship, and Social Justice (IDEAS) Committee encourages recruitment and retention of people of diverse backgrounds, facilitate discussion and awareness among colleagues regarding race, ethnic, cultural, socioeconomic, and gender equality issues, support a welcoming and inclusive workplace climate, and improve patient care for the diverse community we serve.

  • Meet regularly to discuss goals, updates on projects
  • Schedule local, regional, and national speakers for IDEAS-related Hospital Medicine Grand Rounds topics
  • Organize a yearly fundraiser for a community organization
  • Collaborate with other committees such as the Compensation Committee to advocate for volunteerism to be incorporated into compensation bonuses, and the Education Committee to integrate IDEAS topics into Hospital Medicine Grand Rounds
