The IDEAS and Wellness Committees collaborated to put together a ‘Celebrate Diversity Potluck’ for everyone in the division on Tuesday, October 29. Natalia Brito-Rivera, MD, Jaspur Coleman, MD, and Carol Faulk, MD encouraged everyone to bring a dish that represented their cultural heritage to share with their colleagues. Their goal was to create an opportunity for everyone to try different foods, learn about different cultures, and enjoy spending time together.
Everyone in attendance had a great time! We enjoyed dishes including mandu (Korean dumplings), vadas (Hungarian pot roast), arroz con pollo (Puerto Rican rice with chicken), tembleque (Puerto Rican coconut pudding), kisir (Turkish salad), and sesame balls. We look forward to having more of these events in the future.
