Timothy Evans, MD, and Robert Young, MD, Attend Diagnostic Excellence Conference

The Diagnostic Excellence Capacity Building Program Conference was focused on teaching faculty how to develop Centers of Diagnostic Excellence in order to decrease diagnostic errors and improve healthcare overall. Dr. Timothy Evans and Dr. Robert Young, together with Dr. Radha Devi, have been at the forefront of efforts to develop a Center of Diagnostic Excellence for Washington University’s 14 nationally recognized health centers (ADEPT sites). Although Dr. Devi was not able to attend the conference, Dr. Evans and Dr. Young were able to gain valuable insight into the process of development, which they brought back to share with the Division of Hospital Medicine. Dr. Devi and Dr. Evans will be putting together a team of faculty from the Division of Hospital Medicine to tackle this project. We look forward to seeing the progress they make towards improving patient care through taking steps to decrease diagnostic errors.
