Sindhuja Kukkala, MD

Instructor in Medicine

Dr. Sindhuja Kukkala joined Hospital Medicine in the Department of Internal Medicine as an Instructor in July of 2026. She was born in India and soon after moved to Atlanta, Georgia. Then right after high school, she went back to India for medical school at GSL Medical College in Rajahmundry, India where she received her medical degree and completed her internship in 2020. After graduating from medical school, she volunteered at hospitals, clinics, and at food pantries. Dr. Kukkala then completed her internal medicine residency training at St. Luke’s Hospital in Chesterfield, Missouri, before joining Hospital Medicine in 2026. She had varied interests during her training period. She enjoyed teaching and working with her colleagues and medical students during her residency. She was involved in a QI project with other residents that involved creating algorithms for rapid responses for residents to use. Dr. Kukkala looks forward to serving the community as a member of Hospital Medicine.
