Dr. Matthew Samaro joined Hospital Medicine in the Department of Internal Medicine as an Instructor in Medicine in July 2026. He grew up in Dublin, CA and attended the University of California, San Diego, and graduated in 2018 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a minor in Psychology. During his time at UCSD and following graduation, he was involved in research projects with the Department of Neuroscience studying verbal working memory and he also served as a student volunteer in clinical medicine at the Stanford Cancer Center. He earned his medical degree in 2023 from Indiana University School of Medicine. Dr. Samaro completed his internship and residency at Barnes-Jewish Hospital/WashU Medicine before joining Hospital Medicine in 2026.
