Dr. Kasey Hornbuckle joined Hospital Medicine in the Department of Internal Medicine as an Instructor in July 2026. Originally from Indianapolis, Indiana, she graduated summa cum laude from Tuskegee University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. Dr. Hornbuckle earned her Doctor of Medicine from The Ohio State University College of Medicine. She completed her Internal Medicine residency at Barnes-Jewish Hospital/Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. Throughout her training, Dr. Hornbuckle has actively contributed to clinical and translational research in preventive medicine, cancer screening, and health disparities. Her work assessed factors influencing colorectal cancer screening among Black men and patients at the Barnes-Jewish Hospital Primary Care Medicine Clinic. Beyond her clinical and research work, Dr. Hornbuckle is committed to mentoring students from underrepresented backgrounds in medicine and promoting community health initiatives.
