Eric Mittauer, MD, joined the Division of Hospital Medicine in the Department of Internal Medicine as an Instructor in July of 2025. He was born in Honolulu, Hawaii and grew up across the country in Florida, Virginia, Connecticut, and Iowa. He attended college at the University of Iowa, graduating with honors in 2018 with a BS in Human Physiology and a minor in Biology. He attended medical school at Washington University in St Louis, graduating in 2022. Mittauer completed internship and residency at WashU School of Medicine in St. Louis /Barnes-Jewish Hospital, graduating in 2025. After multiple stages of medical training at WashU/Barnes-Jewish Hospital, Mittauer is thrilled to stay on and join an accomplished group of hospitalists in providing excellence in patient care and medical education.
