Dr. Annie Lien joined the Department of Internal Medicine in Hospital Medicine at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis as an Instructor in Medicine. She was born in Taiwan and later raised in New Jersey. Dr. Lien attended Johns Hopkins University, where she earned her bachelor’s degree with a major in Public Health Studies. During her undergraduate training, she developed a strong interest in population health, health equity, and the delivery of comprehensive medical care across diverse communities. Dr. Lien received her medical degree from NYU Langone Long Island School of Medicine. She completed her internship and residency training in Internal Medicine at Barnes-Jewish Hospital and WashU Medicine. Throughout residency, Dr. Lien developed a strong foundation in the care of medically complex hospitalized patients and worked closely with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes. She enjoys teaching and working with both medical students and residents and values mentorship and collaboration in medical education.
