The NCCN Annual Conference in 2024 took place from Friday, April 5 to Sunday, April 7. It was hosted both at the Orlando World Center Marriott and virtually. Esteemed experts from renowned cancer centers convened to address updates to NCCN Guidelines®, advancements in various cancer types, and emerging topics in oncology. The event featured a total of 35 educational sessions, combining live presentations and on-demand content.
At the NCCN Conference, Patricia Litkowski, MD, and Yash Shah, MD, collaborated to present an abstract titled “Retrospective analysis of 30-day Readmission Risk in Oncology Patients.” The objective of their poster was to undertake quality improvement in this area, lowering rates of readmission in the cancer population. They performed a retrospective review of all cancer patients who were admitted to Barnes-Jewish Hospital over a 1-year period. Then, a group of physicians reviewed the medical records of all patients readmitted within 30 days after discharge to classify the medical reason for readmission and verify the underlying tumor type. The data was analyzed as observed and presented. Patricia served as the author, with Yash as the co-author. We appreciate their valuable representation of the DHM at this conference!
