The Patient Experience Team at Barnes-Jewish Hospital prioritizes patient feedback. They reach out to patients post-discharge to collect valuable feedback about their stay and ask them to identify any exceptional individuals who significantly impacted their experience. In November and December of 2025, several hospitalists were mentioned by patients for their excellent care.
A record number of three patients took the time to specifically commend Adnan Al Najada, MD, for his exemplary care and support. One patient shared, “I think the doctor who stood out to me was Dr. Adnan Al Najada. He really listened well and gave me positive feedback in a way that I could understand.” Another patient expressed, “Dr. Al Najada was amazing, a great doctor. He was just very understanding. He talked to me not even just as a doctor. He was very personal, very understanding, very helpful, not just as a doctor, but in terms of life, he was amazing.” The last patient said, “I want to recognize my doctor, Dr. Al Najada. He was truly excellent.”
“Dr. Daniel was extraordinary during my hospital stay. He kept me well-informed about my condition and explained things to me in a way I could understand, especially when I was worried about something. His explanation brought me peace and made me feel confident in his care.”

Matthew Brinkmeier, MD, was also mentioned by a patient he treated in December. His patient explained, “Dr. Matthew Brinkmeier was the one person who stood out during my hospital stay. He listened exceptionally well, which I found truly remarkable.”
Additionally, Edward Daniel, MD, had a patient who shared positive feedback, saying, “Dr. Daniel was extraordinary during my hospital stay at Barnes-Jewish Hospital. He kept me well-informed about my condition and explained things to me in a way I could understand, especially when I was worried about something. His explanation brought me peace and made me feel confident in his care.”

“Dr. Quinley was extraordinary. She was on top of every element of my care. She really listened to me. I told her the concerns I had, and she remained realistic and optimistic. She’s kind of like a “tough love doctor.” This is what I needed at the time that I needed it. She definitely made an impact on my mindset and being able to be discharged.”
Patricia Quinley, MD, also received excellent feedback from her patient who shared, “Dr. Quinley was extraordinary. She was on top of every element of my care. She rounded with the most important team I needed, which was pulmonary.” The patient went on to say, “She really listened to me. I told her the concerns I had, and she remained realistic and optimistic. She’s kind of like a “tough love doctor.” This is what I needed at the time that I needed it. She definitely made an impact on my mindset and being able to be discharged.”
