We are also pleased to announce that the Executive Faculty has approved the appointment of Dr. Dennis Chang as Associate Professor of Medicine.
In July 2018, Dr. Dennis Chang joined the Division of Hospital Medicine and became the Interprofessional Education (IPE) MD Thread Director at Washington University in St. Louis. He was previously affiliated with the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City.
Dr. Chang received his BS from Yale University, his MD from University of Chicago and completed his Internal Medicine residency at NYU. At Mount Sinai, he ran the Medicine Consult Service and Perioperative clinic and has lectured regionally and nationally on Perioperative medicine. At Mount Sinai, he also served as the Internal Medicine Clerkship Director at Mount Sinai, the Associate Division Chief of Hospital Medicine and the Director of Education. His research interests are in developing and assessing the effectiveness on new curricula in medical student education and faculty development. He has developed medical school curricula on patient safety and quality improvement, leadership, teaching skills and the business and law of medicine. He has also developed teaching courses for faculty development as well as communication skills. Dr. Chang has lectured nationally on mentorship and faculty development. He has received numerous teaching awards from medical students and residents and was elected to the Faculty Alpha Omega Alpha Society by the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai graduating class. At Washington University, he is the chair of the IPE Curriculum Assessment Committee.
