Madeline Grondalski, RN, MD

Dr. Madeline Grondalski joined the Department of Medicine in the Division of Hospital Medicine as an Instructor in July of 2022. She was born and raised in St. Louis, MO. She graduated from Saint Louis University in 2015 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and was inducted into the Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society. During her nursing training she learned the importance of teamwork and compassionate care at the bedside with multiple members of the medical team. She completed a certificate in interprofessional education to help strengthen communication amongst members of the health care team. Dr. Grondalski received her medical degree in 2019 at University of Missouri-Columbia. During medical school, Dr. Grondalski cultivated her passion for serving the underserved population and helping provide access to health care through a variety of activities. She volunteered in a free medical student run clinic, MedZou, where she focused primarily on patients with diabetes and preventative health.

She also was the medical student leader in the program Eat Healthy, Stay Active, an educational intervention curriculum to promote healthy nutrition and physical activity in Head Start families. Dr. Grondalski completed her internship and residency at Indiana University in Indianapolis. During her residency, she was honored to have served on the professionalism committee and recruitment committee. Dr. Grondalski had the privilege to present at IU Internal Medicine Grand Rounds regarding Cardiovascular Effects in Rheumatoid Arthritis. Dr. Grondalski strives to deliver compassionate, humanistic, patient centered care. She has a passion to educate medical students and residents while fostering their wellness. Her clinical interests include general inpatient medicine with a particular interest in hematology and oncology, preventative care, quality improvement, and care of the underserved patient populations and her key interests are hospital medicine, inpatient care, hematology oncology, quality improvement and safety.  In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, baking, yoga, crafts, climbing/bouldering, and exploring the outdoors.
