Meet Our New Hospitalist – Elizabeth Rosenthal, MD

Elizabeth Rosenthal, MD

Dr. Elizabeth Tapley Rosenthal joined the Division of Hospital Medicine in the Department of Internal Medicine as an Instructor in June of 2021. She was born in Portland, Maine and soon after moved to Austin, Texas. She considers herself to be a true Texan. She attended Concordia University in Irvine, California and graduated with a major in Theological Studies in 2011. After college, she worked for several years as an instructor with Kaplan Test Prep, preparing students to sit for the entrance exams to medical and dental school. She found great satisfaction in helping these students reach their professional goals. She received her medical degree in 2017 from the Long School of Medicine in San Antonio, Texas. During her time in medical school, she served on the student admissions committee, participated in research, and had the honor of being elected class president for four years.

Dr. Rosenthal completed her internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Barnes-Jewish Hospital / Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis prior to joining the Division in 2021. During her residency, she was involved in research in the Division of Pulmonary/Critical Care Medicine. She has several areas of interest within medicine including general internal medicine, point of care ultrasound, critical care, end of life palliative care and pulmonology. She enjoys spending time outdoors with her family and friends. Outside of medicine, her hobbies include hiking, back country camping, trying out new recipes and reading. She looks forward to providing excellent care for her patients as a member of the Division of Hospital Medicine.
