Alex Thomas, MD

The LeJIT Teaching Award is given to those selected by the Gateway Medicine Clerkship for providing meaningful and timely feedback to medical students via completing just-in-time assessments (also known as “JITs”). These help students develop skills and create a positive learning environment that fosters feedback and growth. A 2 LeJIT 2 Quit sticker is given to those awarded – in reference to 2 Legit 2 Quit 1991 classic by Hammer.

Alex Thomas, MD graduated residency from BJH/WUSM in 2018 and has since been primarily a nocturnist within the Division of Hospital Medicine. His focus has been on clinical patient care and operations within the Division. Dr. Thomas has recently developed an interest in medical education which has included attending the Society of Hospital Medicine’s Academic Hospitalist Academy this past August. This academy provides skills needed in medical education including giving effective feedback.

“I am excited to have received this award, and I hope to continue to refine my teaching skills through ongoing attendance on medicine firm and hospitalist services.”
