Due to launch in early June, the Division of Hospital Medicine has been busy preparing for the transition to Epic, our new electronic health record system. The division held numerous meetings to address any and all Epic questions. Our clinicians spent countless hours in classroom training. The division also requested Epic trainers to be brought into the office to offer all our clinicans personal one-on-one training.
Our clinicians have not only spent many hours training in order to create a seamless transition, but they have also been an intregal part on the teaching end as well. Drs. Devin Odom, Andrew Odden, and Crystal Atwood became Epic provider educators. Nurse practitioner, Cheryl Reinarman, also completed additional training to become an Epic Super User.
The new system will help reach the ultimate goal of providing world-class care to patients by providing reliable, usable, and integrated clinical information systems.
