On December 14th, the Division of Hospital Medicine was honored to host visiting professor Moises Auron, MD, FAAP, FACP, SFHM. Dr. Auron presented “High-Value Care Blood Management” at the DHM Grand Rounds in the Dacey Auditorium. He shared his expertise on evidence-based transfusion practices. He also met with individual faculty to discuss topics including QI projects and mentoring/coaching.
Dual board-certified in Internal Medicine and Pediatric Hospital Medicine, Dr. Auron is a Professor of Medicine and Pediatrics at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University. He is a core faculty at both the Internal Medicine residency program and the Pediatric Hospital Medicine fellowship program at the Cleveland Clinic. At the Cleveland Clinic, he serves as the Quality Improvement and Patient Safety Officer of the Department of Hospital Medicine and the Medical Director of Blood Management, which also covers intraoperative cell saver utilization. Dr. Auron is also an Advanced Peer Coach and Mentor at the Cleveland Clinic Center for Executive Coaching and Mentoring.
