The Society of Hospital Medicine (SHM) is an association devoted to supporting the needs of hospital medicine professionals. Their newsletter, The Hospitalist, is widely read and shared among hospital medicine professionals, and other medical professionals alike.
Anthony Dao, MD, contributed to a timely article about how doctors can better provide equitable healthcare for transgender patients. As June is LGBTQIA pride month, several hospitalists usually come together to write articles for The Hospitalist that are especially relevant for the queer community. This year, Dr. Anthony Dao, along with Dr. Laura Bishop, Dr. Keshav Khanijow, and Dr. Masina Wright focused on the transgender community, who have been targeted with anti-trans bills rapidly since 2021.
