“Care of the Hospitalized Patient 2019” was presented by the WU Division of Hospital Medicine on April 27th at Eric P. Newman Education Center (EPNEC). The planning committee included Dr. Lois Richard (Chair), Nancy Anne Hilliker, NP, and Dr. Eli Deal.
“Care of the Hospitalized Patient” is a full-day Continuing Medical Education seminar presented at EPNEC on the BJH campus and serves as both a showcase for Washington University expertise and an outreach to healthcare providers in the region surrounding St. Louis. Invited speakers are faculty of Washington University in St. Louis and practicing physicians and pharmacists at Barnes-Jewish Hospital who provide valuable instruction on current practices and timely updates on advances in their specialty field. This year’s speakers included Dr. Marina Litvin, Dr. Sara Richter, Dr. Andrej Spec, Dr. Michael Rich, and Dr. Eli Deal. In addition to WU faculty, COHP2019 also included invited speakers Dr. Amanda Kracen from Webster University, Dr. Shiraz Daud from Missouri Baptist Medical Center, and Dr. Katherine Kush from Goldfarb School of Nursing.
Participants earn continuing education credits (CME, CEU or MOC) through the Washington University CME Department, organizers of the event. This year, the program awarded CME/CEU and MOC credits to 69 attendees, including physicians, physician assistants, nurses, nurse practitioners and pharmacists.
The annual CME conference was supported once again by a grant from The Foundation for Barnes Jewish Hospital, as well as various commercial organizations. Many thanks to the WU Continuing Medical Education Department, eloquent speakers, and devoted supporters of this successful program!
