The first Wednesday of December is known throughout the U.S. medical community as Match Day.
The anticipation of future plans filled the air as many of our hospitalists logged into the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) to see where they matched. The NRMP organizes the matching process by combining the ranking of the applicants preferences with those of program directors who also submit their rank order of the candidates.
