Dr. Arun Chandnani joined Hospital Medicine in the Department of Internal Medicine as an Instructor in July of 2026. He was born in Mobile, Alabama, and grew up across the Midwest, living in Cincinnati, Ohio, and Naperville, Illinois. He attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he studied Chemical Engineering, developing a strong foundation in systems thinking and process optimization that would shape his approach to medicine.
Dr. Chandnani received his medical degree from the University of Colorado School of Medicine in 2023, before completing his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Barnes-Jewish Hospital / Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. During his training, he has pursued research projects on various topics such as inflammatory bowel disease, as well as quality improvement initiatives that bridge clinical medicine with operational and analytical work. He also enjoys teaching and working with medical students and residents.

Pulmonary and critical care medicine, with a particular focus on inpatient care and systems-level optimization
