Dr. Kerrigan transitions into this esteemed role following his impactful tenure as the Associate Clerkship Director (ACD). Since joining the Department of Medicine in 2010, Marty has been an indispensable member of our team, exhibiting excellence in both clinical care and educational leadership across Undergraduate Medical Education (UME) and Graduate Medical Education (GME).

Dr. Kerrigan’s unwavering dedication to patient care has garnered widespread recognition. A celebrated educator, Marty has made significant contributions as a Firm attending and was honored with the 2023 Internal Medicine Residency Program Teacher of the Year for Inpatient Medicine Award. His educational leadership extends to valuable service on clerkship and residency competency committees, active participation in his division’s Education Committee, election to the Academy of Educators in 2023, and completion of the Developing Faculty Competencies in Assessment course by 2025. Furthermore, Marty has played a pivotal role in the Department of Medicine’s UME leadership team.

As Associate Clerkship Director, Dr. Kerrigan was instrumental in spearheading curricular transformations, including the transition to an inpatient-only clerkship experience. He has also actively contributed to collaborative efforts across UME and GME, such as the renovation of the residency advising program. We are exceptionally grateful for Marty’s leadership and are excited to see him thrive in his expanded role as Clerkship Director.
