National Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Week celebrates the contributions of Physician Assistants and Associates, Nurse Practitioners, and other certified providers. These professionals are authorized to diagnose, treat, and manage illnesses, prescribe medications, and perform clinical procedures. This week, held annually during the fourth week of September, underscores the value of a collaborative model in Advanced Practice. According to the National APP Week website, “This important group of providers elevates the fields of medicine and nursing to ensure our patients and communities receive safe, high-quality, evidence-based care.”
The Division of Hospital Medicine is proud to have 23 incredible APPs, who demonstrate a commitment to providing excellent care to their patients and do an amazing job of supporting our faculty. We were happy to be able to celebrate them from September 22-26, with donuts on Monday, cake on Friday, some goodies to take home, and a video with kudos from division faculty members. Check out some of the kudos we received from our faculty:

“C.J. Butler took the time to talk extensively with a very elderly, frail patient and convinced him to finally decide to go to a SNF instead of home, facilitating a safe discharge. The patient and his family were very thankful! Kudos for the time and effort!“

“Jen Feldmann is an amazing NP and can see a big list of patients with minimal oversight needed!”

“I am so impressed with the work Carmen Isringhausen has done for the Epic/EMR committee! She is so organized and shares new information with our team in ways that it is digestible and understandable.”

“Jackie Stutz is the best. She’s super thorough and always dependable!”
