Barnes-Jewish Hospital Rehabilitations Department has an annual Rehab Week Celebration, which occurred this year on the week of September 16th-20th. Dr. Safa Farrag, Dr. Rob Young, and Kristin Knobloch, DNP, APRN were nominated for the Friends of Rehab award by Rehabilitation Supervisor for Neurology and Orthopedic Program, Erin Grady, MPT. This award is given to individuals who consistently go above usual expectations in supporting Rehab staff, provide exceptional technical skills, information, consultation, or support services, act as a collaborator or resource to meet needs of Rehab staff, and demonstrate positive communication skills and workplace behaviors.
Erin Grady stated, “Rob and Safa are Associate Professors of Medicine for the Hospitalist Group. Kristin is a Clinical Nurse Specialist on 5300. They have all been major advocates for decreasing inappropriate referrals on the Medicine service line. They began an initiative several months ago and have engaged an interdisciplinary team to attack this issue. They have been open to change and feedback, sought innovative solutions, and focused on collaboration. Their energy and persistence were inspiring and refreshing! We’re so fortunate to have them as advocates!” Thank you to Safa, Rob, and Kristin for their excellent efforts.
