Benjamin L. Hoemann, MD is an Instructor in Medicine in the Division of Hospital Medicine. He received his medical degree from the Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons and completed his internal medicine residency at Washington University in St. Louis. He has a special interest in addiction medicine, point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS), and medical education. He is the inaugural Hospital Medicine Research Fellow and a member of the Quality Improvement and Patient Safety (QIPS) and Research committees within the division. He works as an attending physician on the general medicine and teaching hospitalist services.

Research Interests
Studying risk factors for outcomes among patients with cirrhosis in the ICU who develop kidney failure. Studying strategies to mitigate ICU overcrowding and improve hospital bed utilization.
